Geography Vocabulary
                                  Coast: the end of a continent, island, archipelago...
 
                                  Ocean: large salt water body.
 
                                  Mountain range: series of mountains.
 
                                 Valley: a long, narrow area that is lower than surrounding uplands, hills,                                                   or mountains.
 
                                  Hill: a natural elevation of the earth's surface, smaller than a mountain.
 
                                  Forest: a large area of land covered with trees.
 
                                 Lake: a body of fresh or salt water of considerable size, surrounded by                                                   land.
 
                                  River: a natural stream of water flowing in a definite course.
 
                                  Oasis: an area in a desert region where plants and trees can grow.
 
                                  Desert: a hot, dry, sandy region with little or no rain.
 
                                  Archipelago: a large group or chain of islands.
 
                                  Island: an area of land completely surrounded by water.
 
                                  Continent: one of the seven main masses of land on the earth.
 
                                  Flood: a great flowing or overflowing of water.
 
                                Earthquake: vibrations in the earth's crust causing the ground to shake.
 
                             Volcano: a mountain or hill, usually having a cup like crater at the top,                                                            that was formed around such a vent from the ash and lava that were given                                              off from it.
 
                        Population: the total number of persons, animals, or other living things living                                                                     in a country, city, etc....
 
                                Industry: the group of manufacturing businesses in a particular field.
 
                                Agriculture: the work concerned with cultivating land.
 
                            Natural resources: naturally occurring materials such as coal, fertile land,                                                                          etc, that can be used by man.
